Blake Snell (6-7, 4.21, 1.25) vs. Clay Buchholz (1-5, 7.00, 1.54)
PREAMBLE:
Well, this is it. We all somehow made it to game 162 of this long, difficult season. The Blue Jays wrap up their season today, looking to pull out a series win against the Rays, who will likely be taking it easy to rest up for the Wild Card game
On the mound today, we hold our breaths to see if Clay Buchholz can actually hold onto a lead for once and finish with an ERA under 7. He'll face off against the reigning Cy Young winner, Blake Snell, who is having a tough season of his own. Snell is 0-0, 1.50 in two starts against the Jays this season.
NOTES:
Joe Maddon has been let go by the Cubs. Get him, Shapkins. (I'm hearing that the Padres are the faves to get him)
A big thank you to everyone here for not-reading my game threats; it's been a fun year, even with the losing and the mostly non-existent pitching. Hang in there, the team will eventually get better - too many good, young players to not get better. Vlad will be a monster, book it.
A Blue Jays appreciation to all of the fans:
