2nd Half Predictions for the Blue Jays

Articles are starting to pop up with regularity in regard to second-half predictions, and Kaitlyn McGrath of The Athletic has posted her Blue Jays predictions (listed below).

FiveThirtyEight predicts the Jays will finish at 64-98.

International Business Times predict that Stroman will go to the Yankees, Madison Bumgarner will go to the Astros and Zach Wheeler will go to the Red Sox.

While the money is on Sanchez for a lot of people, I'm picking Liriano

I could go with angry Bautista but my pick is Devon Travis.

Easy one, over.

Who is the first player who gets called up first?

I'm going out on a limb and saying Tepera, 2nd choice Gurriel.

Somebody predicted ( me ), that when Smoak signed his contract, he'd be the opening day starting first baseman, will he still be the main man at first at the end of the season?

Yes.

Who will hit the most homeruns for the Jays this year?

Bautista.

I abhor making predictions, it's something I loathe but I thought I'd make an exception and have some fun. Perhaps we'll revisit this at year's end. Just for shits and giggles.

10 Bold Predictions, Blue Jay Style

Look at all that hardware

With the season being less than a week away, now is the perfect time to make bold proclamations that are almost assuredly not going to be correct. With some of these, I will attempt to give some form of (statistical) rhyme or reason with each one. These are typically aimed toward fantasy baseball players, but I'll try to stick to general things that I feel could happen in the coming season. No real order here, just random thoughts heading into the season. I'll try not to be too pessimistic.

Incorrect Prediction Time

Spring Training is in full swing, and well - thanks to the World Baseball Classic, we have semi-actual baseball on the TV daily. Sign me up. This tournament was better than I was expecting it to be, and I'm thankful. With that being said, we are officially two weeks away from real, MLB Baseball. The perfect time to declare bold, and likely incorrect predictions. Here are mine, feel free to share your own.

2017 Non-Roster Pitcher Predictions

Mat Latos: Rotation Option, Bullpen Arm or just a clubhouse distraction?

Grapefruit League begins tomorrow! But how long until the novelty of baseball wears off and we roll our eyes at the AAA fodder, prospects bound for Double-A ball, and pitchers stretching out and trying new pitches? 2 or 3 games, max? But hey, baseball is baseball, right??
