Toronto Blue Jays @ New York Yankees
Sunday, August 19, 1:05 PM EDT (Rain Delay looming), Yankee Stadium
Ryan Borucki (2-2) 3.29 ERA vs JA Happ! (13-6) 3.86 ERA
Here's hopin' we get ourselves a pitchers' duel!
From everyone's favourite baseball Twitter parody account @JAHappster "I was traded to the New York Yankees before it was cool." |
How fresh-faced am I? |
Borucki battled a foot blister and didn't have his sharp command last Tuesday against the Royals. After allowing six hits and four runs through four innings, Borucki wound up taking a no-decision. Borucki will be making his 10th start.
Happ tossed seven scoreless innings of one-hit ball against the Rays on Tuesday. He has earned a win and turned in a quality start in each of his three starts since being acquired by the Yankees at the non-waiver Trade Deadline.

Two weeks ago, I was in Lac La Biche, Alberta to umpire Midget 'AA' Provincials. At the request of manager George, the game between the Okotoks Heat and South Jasper Place Jays was postponed by two minutes so he could take a pre-game picture with his dog. Why? The dog, a Shar-Pei, was being put down a couple of days later as he had terminal cancer. He was only four years old. Glad I got to shake his paw. If you look closely, you will find the owners had the dog in a doggie-jersey with Expos pinstripes. The dog was given his own seat behind the backstop, and every time I turned around, he seemed to be watching and know what was going on. I feel bad for the kid on the left who lost his dog after such a short life.
Best Home Plate meeting I've ever had. |
