PREAMBLE:
The Toronto Blue Jays look to wrap up their second-straight series sweep of the Oakland Athletics and to complete a reversal of last year's 0-7 record. The Jays also look to stay undefeated in the Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Era.
Trent Thornton takes the mound as he looks to secure his first major-league win and get over the hump of a few inconsistent starts in a row. He'll face Chris Bassitt, who has faced the Jays once in 2016, getting gonged for nine hits and six runs in five innings.
NOTES:
Vlad. Vlad. VLAD. That's all.

In the Rays vs. Red Sox game today, we've got Glasnow vs. Sale. One pitcher is 0-4, 7.43, 1.52 and the other is 4-0, 1.53, 0.92. It's not who you'd think it is that these numbers belong to. Delicious.
Speedy recovery to you, Shoe... easy to cheer for this guy:
Surgery is schedule for this coming week. This is just another little bump in the road that won’t stop me at all. I can’t wait to get back around here and see all your beautiful faces soon.— Matt Shoemaker (@MattShoe52) April 28, 2019
