- One has to wonder if there is something physically wrong with Marco Estrada. He was pulled in the 4th inning after throwing just 63 pitches. The Red Sox scored 4 runs on 7 hits and four of those hits were extra base hits. The good news is Estrada kept the ball in the ball park, something that has been a problem for him. With the Blue Jays needing length out of their starters, Gibbons should have let Estrada work his way out of the jam he was in.
- The enigma that is Joe Biagini continued to rear it's ugly head. He escaped a bases loaded jam in the 6th giving up just a single run.But he allowed a solo shot leading off the 7th and was promptly pulled. He and Danny Barnes allowed 4 runs on 5 hits combined.
- The Blue Jays had their chances offensively, loading the bases in the 7th, scoring a pair to get within 2 at the time. They also loaded the bases in the 9th but Pillar struck out swinging and Solarte grounded into a force out to end the game

- The Blue Jays were black and blue after today's game. Yangervis Solarte, Teoscar Hernandez and Russell Martin were all hit by pitches. Hernandez's hit by pitch looked the worse as he required medical attention but remained in the game.
