no. 26 2017: Blue Jays (8-17) at Yankees (15-8)

Monday 01 May 2017
7:05PM EDT / Yankee Stadium
Marco Estrada (RHP 0-1 2.70 33K) v. Luis Severino (RHP 2-1 3.00 33K)

The Blue Jays ride into the Bronx atop a modest two-game win streak for tonight's first of three with the division-leading Yankees. See those line-ups? Yeeesh. Expect the worst, hope for the best, dear reader, but it sure seems SP Marco "The Levee" Estrada is the only thing standing between Toronto and an ass-whoopin' (to the delight of Bean Weasels the world o'er, no doubt). New York has a vibrant arts / food / drink culture visiting fans may choose to avail themselves of, should they need cheering up. The rest of us will have to make do closer to home (- eyeballs his bottle of bourbon -).

Of Note: It must feel good to get that "no series wins" nonsense off their back -- at the expense of those pesky Rays, no less; sadly, SP Aaron Sanchez's return from the ten-day disabled list lasted just about the time it takes some people to shower and dress in the morning. Don't be surprised if he joins SS Troy Tulowitzki, SP JA Happ and 3B Josh Donaldson in Dunedin. In the meantime, RP Danny "BARNES!" Barnes has been recalled from AAA Buffalo. 2B Starlin Castro leads all Yankees in career success versus Estrada (.387 in 31 AB). No one else comes close (presented, as ever, for what it's worth).
