no. 8 2017: Brewers (3-5) at Blue Jays (1-6)

Wednesday 12 April 2017
7:07PM EDT / Rogers Centre

Chase Anderson (RHP 0-0 1.50 4K) v. Marcus Stroman (RHP 1-0 1.42 5K)

The Toronto Blue Jays awakened this morning 1-6 to start a season for the first time in their forty year history. You wouldn't know it, of course, since most fans and pundits have taken what's best characterized as a calm, even meditative response to their team's early...

Pffft! Yeah, no. Not true. Not one bit. Fans and pundits across Canada (and the USA) are losing their marbles. In fact, a flock of geese in Jays' gear just fell out of the sky dead over North Battleford. When will the wheel turn? Stay tuned! In the meantime, stock up on libations.

Of Note: It was lovely to watch 3B Josh Donaldson nearly bring the stadium down last night with his surprise pinch-hit appearance. The Jays are batting just .197 and striking out at a 22.1% clip (per Fangraphs). Not much to like there; no reason to believe they will continue to be this bad, however, unless you're Dabbles or a full-patch member of his unicycle gang, Jazz Hands Masochists. For you roof watchers among us, the lid remains shut. This ought to keep the Monty Python foot at bay, in the unlikely event things go pear-shaped again. Also: Eric Thames! And Jett Bandy! Go get 'em, boys.
