Giving Tuesday: The annual JITH Holiday Assistance fundraiser

Today is known across North America as Giving Tuesday. It was intended to take the consumerism that is Black Friday and Cyber Monday and offset it by giving to charitable organizations. While some people felt I should wait until the current thread went past 1000 comments, I wanted to tie in with this day of giving.

So, the 3rd annual JITH Holiday Assistance fundraiser. This is for members of our community who find themselves in need of financial assistance this holiday season. Anyone who wishes to avail themselves of the funds raised can email me at jithmk17 at gmail dot com and I will add you to the list of recipients. You will be anonymous unless you choose to thank the community - which is what all previous recipients have done. No pressure.

To donate click on this link. I am using the same GoFundMe as we used last year, so you will see the generosity of this community from last year. It's something for everyone to be very proud of. The campaign will run until December 18th. This is so there is enough time to get transfers done for Christmas. Now, if you're not able to donate after that date, maybe because you're waiting on a Christmas bonus, you still can. I'll do another distribution after Christmas for any late donations.

Normally this is where I would end things but I'm in a situation myself this year. My cancer journey has had a setback and I won't be doing radiation until January. I'm starting to work to get some business money coming in, however it wasn't until a few days ago I could even wrap my head around it. I have been running a GoFundMe for myself since May and many of you have contributed (thank you!). So my question to the community is - should I be one of the recipients or just have everyone contribute to my GoFundMe (which is here)? Also using the Amazon link helps me - I've been able to get some of the things I've needed the last few months because of it.

IAO has already weighed in, saying I should be part of the JITH fund. I would like to hear from others as well. Thank you in advance for however you may contribute. This community is the best.
