Bo Bichette drove in 3 runs in a 6-1 win over the Red Sox |
After a solid victory over the Bosox thanks to George Springer's 3RBI, 1 run score night and a strong 7-inning effort from ace Jose Berrios, the Blue Jays were looking to extend the win streak to 2 games. Easton Lucas got the start with Tyler Heineman behind the plate. Myles Straw was in CF. Ernie Clement was at the hot corner and Davis Schneider was at 2B. Could the Blue Jays make it 2 straight wins? Here is tonight's game recap.

My Take:
- Easton Lucas was excellent in his second career start, throwing 5.1 shutout innings, scattering 3 hits, walking 1 and striking out 8. Lucas retired the first eight batters he faced and never really got into any real trouble. With the way he was dealing, i might have let him finish the inning instead of yanking him the first batter that got on in the 6th inning with a 4- run cushion and the Blue Jays playing another week before the next off-day.
- The bullpen gave up a run on 5 hits while walking none and striking out 4 over the las 3.2 innings. The two lefties, Brandon Little and Mason Fluharty both retired every batter they faced. It was great to see Fluharty have some success after a pair of brutal appearances to start the season.
- The offence did most of its damage in the 6th, starting with a bomb off the red-hot bat of George Springer and capped off by a 2-run single from Bo Bichette. They also added 2 insurance runs in the 8th inning
- Springer is playing like he's half his age
- The Blue Jays were 4-12 with runners in scoring position
- Up next, the Blue Jays try to extend the win streak to 3-games and notch their 1st series win of the season. Kevin Gausman starts against Red Sox righty Tanner Houck
