#104 - Cleveland Indians (58-42) at Toronto Blue Jays (39-64)

Wednesday, July 24, 2019 | 7:07 pm
Rogers Centre | Toronto, Ontario

Justin Shane Bieber (9-3, 3.69, 1.05) vs. Marcus Stroman (6-10, 3.06. 1.25)

PREAMBLE:

The Blue Jays look to pick up a series win after last night's late fireworks from Justin Smoak as they play the finale of their series against the Clevelands.  Smoak is only the second ever in the divisional era to TWICE hit a game tying HR in the 9th and then walk it off in extras.

In what is all-but-guaranteed to be his final home start in a Blue Jays uniform and possibly his final game anywhere, Marcus Stroman will head out to the mound with a full plethora of emotions in front of the home fans in the city that he loves.  He'll face Not-Justin Bieber on the mound tonight; Bieber is 1-0, 3.65 in two outings against the Jays in his career, including a no-decision way back on April 5th.

#30 - Toronto Blue Jays (14-15) at Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (13-17)

Wednesday, May 1, 2019 | 10:07 pm ET
Angels Stadium of Anaheim | Somewhere near Disneyland

Marcus Stroman (1-3, 1.43, 1.09) vs. Luke Bard (0-1, 3.38, 1.13)

PREAMBLE:

The Blue Jays are coming off a loss in the opener of a six-game road trip and look to get back onto the winning track again as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. experienced a major-league loss for the first time in the home where he was 'Mini-Me' to his father for six years.

Marcus Stroman takes his birthday cake (28 today) out to the mound today as he seeks to burnish his trade bait credentials, going up against The Bard of Anaheim, Luke Bard.

Opening Day - Detroit Tigers (0-0) at Toronto Blue Jays (0-0)

Thursday, March 28, 2019 | 3:37 pm
Rogers Centre | Toronto, ON

Jordan Zimmermann (2018: 7-8, 4.52, 1.26) vs. Marcus Stroman (2018: 4-9, 5.54, 1.47)

PREAMBLE:

Well, it's finally here.  Opening Day.  Vladimir Guerrero's Jr. debut.  (*someone whispers into ear* What, he's not up yet?  But, Eloy's up.  Tatis is up.)  Okay, how about Bo Bichette's debut?  No?  Dude hit .800 all spring with umpteen HRs.  But he's down on the farm?

Okay, scratch that.  Let's try again...

Well, it's finally here.  Opening Day.  Fresh grass, clean and sleek baselines, etc.  What?  It's not fresh grass?  *throws laptop out of the window*

You get the idea.  It's Opening Day at Rogers Stadium, which means half of the fans will be soused and getting into fights in the stands while (mostly) ignoring the uninspiring action on the field where just about the only players most non-brawling fans would know are named Miguel Cabrera and Kevin Pillar, surrounded by a cast of thousands of no-name players.

Jordan Zimmermann takes the ball for the Tigers while his counterpart, Marcus Stroman, is looking to bounce back after a sub-optimal year punctuated by injuries.
