Monday Poetry
We haven't done one of these for a while, have we? Feel free to use free form but you can truly impress your fellow JITHians by trying a haiku or a limerick. (Leave the sonnets to NoCramps.)
My contribution:
Contrary to what Simmons may think
Our 2018 team does not stink
Speed, defense and youth has arrived
Travis and Sanchez have revived
Wily vet has been bought
Returning players not forgot (looking at you, Cox)
And if health still has not mended
At least Dream Job has ended
Wild Card is not without reason
Bring on the new season!

Shakespearean Gibbons
Gif by Ian Hunter via @GibbyGIFS
Our resident poet, nocramps13, struck again yesterday in our express yourself post. I'm putting it in its own post so it can be shared on twitter and other places because it's utterly brilliant. Here's what he wrote:

Express yourself!
This was going to be another poetry post but I got thinking about all of you who are resistant to writing poetry. So I'm opening it up to stories told in gif or emoji form as well.
Talk about how things went in Houston, how you feel about the trades, the upcoming series with the Yankees, the day off, or any overall baseball feelings.

Monday Poetry
Express your feelings about another poetry post, or about the disastrous home stand, or the upcoming games in YS, in poetic form.
*Note - your poem can be freestyle. It doesn't have to rhyme. Have fun playing with sentence shapes.

Monday Poetry
Thanks to not owning a phone, I took the red eye home from Ottawa Sunday morning and my body is zonked. Express your feelings about another poetry post, or about the new banner my cousin whipped up for me while her husband and I were watching Saturday's game, or about recent games, or about the continued ball-washing of the Yankees'/Judge, or about the upcoming games, in poetic form.
*Note - your poem can be freestyle. It doesn't have to rhyme. Have fun playing with sentence shapes.

Monday poetry
This was supposed to be a promised post by Morgan but as of 2:50am I have nothing. So you get another poetry post. Express your feelings about another poetry post, or the recent road trip, or the continued ball-washing of the Yankees/Judge, or the upcoming games, in poetic form.
*Note - your poem can be freestyle. It doesn't have to rhyme. Have fun playing with sentence shapes.

iambic pentameter day
By 98 LB baseball BOSS' request, this is the day nocramps has been waiting for. Iambic Pentameter baseball poetry, the style favoured by Shakespeare and friends.

Limerick Day
By 98 LB baseball BOSS' request, since you all enjoyed the haikus so much (and because I have no content) it's make up a baseball limerick day!

Haiku contest
How about a haiku contest? Appoint two or three to be judges and give a virtual prize or something (worth .00003 cents). The haiku could be related to the Jays or to put down our opponents. A prize for the best Jays one and the best opponents one, perhaps?
So, who's down? What should the prize be?
