#75 - Los Angeles Angels (38-37) at Toronto Blue Jays (26-48)

Thursday, June 20, 2019 | 7:07 pm
Rogers Centre | Troutville, ON

Jose "Cy Young" Suarez (2-1, 4.50, 1.25)
vs.
Sacrificial Lamb to be Slaughtered by Trout (Clayton Richard - 0-3, 7.52, 1.77)

PREAMBLE:

The Blue Jays look to avoid getting bludgeoned for the third time in the series by the Best Player of All-Time and not be swept in the finale of a four-game series.

It's Clayton Richard's turn to get fed to Mr. Trout tonight on the mound.  His counterpart, Jose Suarez, gets to feel what it's like to be Cy Young for one night.

#72 - Los Angeles Angelic Trouts of Anaheim (35-37) vs. Toronto Blue Jays (26-45)

Monday, June 17, 2019 | 7:07 pm
Rogers Centre | Raptortown, ON

Luis Garcia (1-1, 4.74) vs. Edwin Jackson (1-4, 10.22)

PREAMBLE:

The Blue Jays arrive home from a 6-game road trip, right smack into the middle of a berserk day in downtown Toronto.  Hopefully the incredible energy being created outdoors navigate right into the bats of the Jays hitters (hint: Vlad needs to start burnishing his ROY creds and Smoakey needs to up his trade worth pronto).

Edwin Jackson gets the start for the Jays, though I don't know why Charlie wouldn't use a starter again just to give LaStella and Trout one fewer look at prime rib nom noms being hurled by EJax.  Luis Garcia is opening for the Angels, who will go to Felix Pena when Garcia is done with his 1 or 2 frames.

EDITED: it now appears that Derek Law will open for EJax, a formula that worked well last time out.  Mr. Law, have you met Mr. Trout?  (Leaving the pitchers listed as is, just in case)

#30 - Toronto Blue Jays (14-15) at Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim (13-17)

Wednesday, May 1, 2019 | 10:07 pm ET
Angels Stadium of Anaheim | Somewhere near Disneyland

Marcus Stroman (1-3, 1.43, 1.09) vs. Luke Bard (0-1, 3.38, 1.13)

PREAMBLE:

The Blue Jays are coming off a loss in the opener of a six-game road trip and look to get back onto the winning track again as Vladimir Guerrero Jr. experienced a major-league loss for the first time in the home where he was 'Mini-Me' to his father for six years.

Marcus Stroman takes his birthday cake (28 today) out to the mound today as he seeks to burnish his trade bait credentials, going up against The Bard of Anaheim, Luke Bard.

#29 - Toronto Blue Jays (14-14) at Los Angeles Angels (12-17)

Tuesday, April 30, 2019 | 10:07 pm ET
Angel Stadium of Anaheim | Anaheim, CA

Clay Buchholz (0-1, 4.60, 1.34) vs. Griffin Canning (MLB debut)

PREAMBLE:

The Blue Jays, coming off a sweep of the Oakland Eh's, travel out west to take on the L.A. Angels in a three-game series to kick off a two-city road trip that also goes through Arlington, TX.  They're 3-0 in the Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Era, and look to carry on the momentum in the home of his father's "other" primary team.

Clay Buchholz takes the ball for the Jays as he looks to bounce back from a sub-optimal performance against the Giants. Griffin Canning will make his major-league debut on the hill for the Angels.

no. 74 - Toronto Blue Jays (34-39) at Los Angeles Angels (39-35)

Thursday, June 21, 2018 | 10:07 pm ET
Angel Stadium of Anaheim | Anaheim, CA
Aaron Sanchez (3-5, 4.35, 1.39 whip) vs. John Lamb (0-0, 3.60, 0.80 whip)

#49 - Los Angeles Trouts of Anaheim in Orange County of California USA (26-22) at Toronto Blue Jays (23-25)

Yep, their first ballpark in L.A. was indeed called 'Wrigley Field'

Wednesday, May 23, 2018 | 7:07 pm
Rogers Centre | Toronto, Ontario
Tyler Skaggs (3-3, 2.88) vs. Aaron Sanchez (2-4, 4.47)

PREAMBLE:

Hooray, the Jays snapped an ugly losing streak last night by piling up five runs in the first inning and then fending off the Angels the rest of the way to hold on for a 5-3 victory.  J.A. Happ turned in a sorely-needed excellent outing to record the victory and then Ryan Tepera and Tyler Clippard closed the door.

Aaron Sanchez is 0-1, 3.24 in two career starts against the Angels.  His counterpart, Tyler Skaggs, is 2-2, 3.86 in four career starts against the Blue Jays.

Can the Blue Jays avoid getting bludgeoned right into the ground by a Trout-led squad hell-bent on securing revenge for last night's loss?  Stay tuned!
