Happy Holidays and Last call for JITH fund

This is your last chance to donate to help fellow JITHers in need or to request help from the JITH fund.

To donate: https://gofund.me/f4c6d417

To request assistance from the fund: jithmk17@gmail.com

The donations from the beginning of the week have now cleared and are ready to be distributed this weekend, with a second distribution next week of anything that comes in now.

Thank you, JITHers, for your generosity during a tough year. May you have a great holiday season, no matter how you celebrate. And enjoy the cute AI (I'm pretty sure) generated fawn at the top of this post.

Merry JITHmas!

Last night I distributed what has been donated so far to the JITH Holiday Fund to 4 members of this community in need. One of those was me. I've used that money for two of my acupuncture appointments and groceries. Thanks from the bottom of my heart.

I wanted to make sure money got to people before Christmas but the fund is open for a few more days, with another distribution next week. The link is https://gofund.me/f4c6d417 (last time, I promise!)

Give yourselves a hand. I know I appreciate how supportive this community is.

Giving Tuesday: The annual JITH Holiday Assistance fundraiser

Today is known across North America as Giving Tuesday. It was intended to take the consumerism that is Black Friday and Cyber Monday and offset it by giving to charitable organizations. While some people felt I should wait until the current thread went past 1000 comments, I wanted to tie in with this day of giving.

Happy 5th Birthday JITH

On March 6,2016, MK created this blog, as a place for commenters and fans of  DJF/AS blog, to congregate. The comment system of Stoeten's new home Blue Jays Network wasn't conducive to the robust discussions that people were used to.

This being the 1929th post, MK's original worry, concerning the viability of the blog, seems to have quelled. My thought since the beginning, has been that the blog would develop and evolve based upon what it's users wanted to derive from it. And for the most part, it has.

.Some have joined, some have left, all for a myriad of reasons. Sometimes life gets in the way. Marriages, children, work, changes in locales, disagreements, pandemics and reasons we'll never know all lead to a churn of commenters. Still, this is a place where people can escape and discuss whatever is on their mind, sometimes even Blue Jays baseball.

So, as we enter the 6th year, thank you to all the commenters, writers, lurkers and everyone I haven't mentioned. You make this community what it is, a house.

New Post because the previous post has a lot of comments

I'm creating a new post to continue the discussions of this past week.

Someone asked so I'll explain, for some people , they use older phones that get clogged up and run slow when the comment section goes over the thousand comments, so for those who experience that problem, a new post helps out ( and keeps MK happy and a happy MK is better than a cranky MK).

So as the weekend begins, let us reflect on the Springer story and the Brantley non story and the various baseball networks, websites, blogs, newspapers who all of a sudden took notice and said " those Blue Jays might be good this year".

This is where I usually post a bunch of tweets and links but let's just say I'll see you in the comment section.

PS. Good to see some commenters that we haven't seen in a while.

Go Jays.
