After a disastrous blowout loss yesterday, the Blue Jays were trying to snap the 4-game skid and avoid their 3rd series loss and 1st season series loss of the season. - Yusei Kikuchi battled through 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 9 hits while walking none and striking out 3. That first run of the game was a horrible mistake by Daulton Varsho, who made a diving attempt at a sinking liner. He missed and the ball rolled to the wall for an easy triple. Kikuchi got into more trouble in the second inning and surrendered two more runs on four hits. His control was decent, but he was leaving too many balls in prime hitting locations. It's his fourth straight start pitching 6 or more innings, which shows he is being economical with his pitches
