Kevin Gausman (RHP 0-0 5.40 8K) v. Francisco Liriano (LHP 0-0 135.00 1K)

Although the bats remain stone-cold the Jays' pitching has been solid -- with the exception of Liriano, funny enough, and his somewhat inflated ERA. Ouch. Tough to imagine that belly getting any pinker.

Then again, it is April and these are your Toronto Blue Jays. The Orioles, on the other hand, are off to a fine start because, well, what else does Baltimore have going for it except their deep-water port, a far more temperate climate and that lovely ballpark? Eh? Think about it.

Nothing. The answer is nothing. Hope you enjoyed the ride, Baltimore, you fetid sinkhole.

Of Note: Toronto is 321-282 all-time versus Baltimore (inc. 73-60 in the 2010s), for what it's worth. Good to see C Russell Martin get the oh-fer monkey off his back last night. Not many Jays work as hard as him, from the sound of things. The lid remains shut for game one of this four-game tilt (unless it goes full Morosi and caves in on 'em). Hats off to RP Jason Grilli for his work with "Jays Care Foundation" here in Canada and "Feeding America" which bills itself the largest domestic hunger relief organization in the US. Too bad it seems feel-good stories are all we have at the moment; still, it's a good one.
